The Podiatry Institute is hosting one of its last seminars of the year in San Diego, California this week called Update 2012 Reconstructive Surgery of the Foot Ankle. The conference will run from September 27th through the 30th and is being co-hosted by the San Diego Podiatric Medical Society.
The four-day seminar will feature lectures and workshops, as well as live podiatry EMR software demos from leading EMR vendors. Presenters will talk about the new techniques and technologies available to podiatric doctors and surgeons, and a special emphasis will be placed on the common challenges facing podiatrists and how they can avoid complications.
Electronic health records will also be a major point of focus at the seminar, as conference organizers understand the importance of podiatrists converting to electronic medical records. One of the lectures on the agenda is called “Designing Your Practice’s Workflow to Optimize Your EHR Implementation,” where podiatrists will likely receive tips for making it through a successful EMR implementation.
Another of the lectures, “Optimizing EHR to Improve Patient Care and Mitigate Risk” will be geared towards podiatrists who are already using certified EMR software. The lecture will focus on how to achieve optimum results from EMR technology for the betterment of patient care. The lecture will also focus on EMR risks, documentation techniques, the use of clinical alerts, and HIPAA compliance. After attending these EMR-focused lectures, podiatrists will be able to see some EMR systems in action, such as 1st Providers Choice specialty-specific podiatry EMR software.
The Podiatry Institute hosts a variety of domestic and international conferences, workshops and meetings each year as part of its members’ commitment to advancing podiatric care. All profits from the Institute’s gatherings go towards the development of educational resources for podiatrists, including audio-visual materials and podiatry textbooks.
